Growing the Business
Dowling Jewellers was moved in 1990 to a larger unit on the ground floor of the Castle Shopping Centre.Providing us with a front window and larger foot fall for customers.
The business continued to provide retail, manufacturing and repair services adding new machinery and technology to our workshop to move forward with our production of in-house designed jewellery. Apprentices were taken on at this stage with the increase in demand, over several years some apprentices went on to work in the jewellery trade independantly and open their own jewellers around Ireland. It was in 2004 that John’s son Stephen started his apprenticeship with Dowling Jewellers.
